25th Anniversary Collection
A SIMPLE STRING OF WONDER
|
Recorded on January 3, 1979, these previously unreleased acoustic recordings are the only studio record of Willow Hale’s New York period during which she performed as Debby McHale at such legendary venues as The Bitter End, Folk City, Trax, Great Guildersleeves, Reno Sweeney’s and The Lone Star Cafe and feature all Hale originals including “Rub My Feet Blues,” “Lost In The Talk Blues” and the poignant “San Francisco In My Mind” written in London when she was 20 years old. These thirteen tracks feature Willow Hale and her Martin guitar singing the original sound that has led to her new maturity. Share the journey.

In November of 2007, Willow began prepping for her first adventure as director/producer/writer as well as lead actress of a short film under her newly formed production company, New York Time Film. Co. The name of the short is KinShip and with her friend Bruce Cervi managed to complete filming by April 2008 and locked the film on December 23, 2008. In the film, one of Willow's songs, That's Love plays in the background (sans vocal) in the interior scene. KinShip is available for sale at www.createspace.com/255409 and for more information, one can go to the website, http://www.newyorktimefilm.com. During this time, lots of good things happened. Willow began working as a full time actress (over 19 shorts, features, webseries and one play) in lead and supporting roles and met Walt Hochbrueckner and with Walt and Bruce started rehearsing music. This led to more songwriting (one song My Sailor Man) and Wondrous Love and Little Angel (Willow) as well as a wonderful booking at The Coffee Gallery Backstage on October 4, 2008 as well as regular dates at the Borders stores. Bruce plays bass, keyboards and electric guitar and Walt sings backup as well as lead on some of the songs. Willow is still playing her acoustic guitar and singing. At present, the three are hoping to record soon and write more. Willow is cast now in two short films, playing the mother of the lead in both. She also is set to play Duchess of York (Richard III's mother) in an updated version for a film. She is grateful for everything God gives her and for the adventure life brings. |
